How It Works

Once the prepaid meter is installed, a tenant can purchase tokens to access electricity.

HBros will reimburse the landlord for this amount.

INSTALL A PREPAID METER
HBros offers the installation of an electricity meter in leased properties. Tenants who lease these properties can easily acquire prepaid electricity tokens, providing them with the convenience and peace of mind that comes with having control over their energy consumption.
HBROS PAYS LANDLORD
At the conclusion of each month, HBros will compensate the landlord (yes, we will compensate you) with an amount equal to the cost of the electricity consumed by the tenant, as measured by the electricity meter.
ELECTRICITY COST
Therefore, by installing an electricity meter, both the landlord and the tenant can be assured of recovering and controlling their respective electricity costs.

HOW DO YOU, AS THE LANDLORD, BENEFIT?

Peace of mind that electricity is efficiently managed

The task of ensuring managing the electricity on your leased property will be delegated. Your tenant will be responsible for purchasing and using tokens of electricity. HBros will be responsible for ensuring you receive money spent on electricity.

Control over your tariff (as per council tariff)

Control your tariff by monitoring your monthly bills. Council tariff is set by the council and cannot be altered. HBros does not and cannot alter, set or influence the tariff set by council.

Recover your electricity cost

You will never hassle with tenants who don’t pay their utilities again. When a tenant buys prepaid tokens, you are guaranteed to receive the money spent on electricity.

Support centre available for sub meters

Should you run in to any issues, our support centre is ready and available to assist you with your metering unit.

How do you, as the tenant, benefit?

Tokens easily available 24/7

Prepaid tokens are available at multiple participating outlets, including, but not limited to; BP, Shell, Spar, Checkers and Shoprite. Tokens are available online via participating banks.

Monitor your electricity spend

You gain control over your monthly utilities spend. By purchasing prepaid tokens you gain greater flexibility to monitor and minimise your usage (and your spend).

Recover lost tokens

Unredeemed lost tokens can be recovered – so you don’t lose your money.

Safe and convenient

Our metering units are safe and convenient. We adhere to strict health and safety requirements. The units themselves have a simple interface that can be operated by anyone.
